Community Practice
Printmaking - Public Engagement - Education
Art is a tool which I use to engage others in dialogue and connection. My community practice centers on using art, research, and public engagement to amplify overlooked stories and challenge the systems that shape our daily lives. I engage in projects that invite participation, spark dialogue, and create spaces where students and community members can speak for themselves. Whether through protest posters, public demonstrations, workshops, or collaborative installations, my work treats visual communication as a tool for collective empowerment.
Mutual Aid at CSUSB
11/'25
Seeing an avenue through which we can support our fellow students, myself and other members of Students for Quality Education have started a mutual aid project at Cal State San Bernardino. Every Monday since the start of November, student volunteers have gone to local food banks and grocery stores to gather food donations which are then brough to campus and directly distributed to students. No item limits, no sign in sheets, no stigma. All students are asked to do is spread the word and place a stamp. Each stamp is a student served.

Student Protest at CSUSB
10/'25
As part of a student-led protest held at Cal State San Bernardino, which I helped organize, I created a series of works responding to the issues raised by the demonstration. Two screenprinted designs addressed concerns regarding ICE on and off of campus: one design speaks to the broken promise of the "American dream" for immigrant communities, the other calling out a professor who publicly promoted ICE job openings.
I also created a large demonstration piece taking the form of an enlarged report card, highlighting several areas that the campus community felt the university was failing in its responsibilities. The piece was carried across campus and eventually delivered to the president's office.

Screenprinting Demo
4/'25
As part of Students for Quality Education, I created a screenprinting workshop which provided a space for Cal State San Bernardino campus community to learn about screenprinting and its role in activism, get hands on experience screenprinting, and discuss their concerns regarding the current state of higher education. Utilizing my designs as the starting point for discussion, I guided students through the printing process as they shared concerns, experiences, and ideas with one another.
Not-So Love Letters for Change
3/'25
As part of Students for Quality Education, I created the Not-So Love Letters for Change campaign aimed at highlighting the harsh realities the Cal State San Bernardino student body faces and the unfiltered opinions they have for the university administration.
Students were asked to write letters on large note cards to the administration voicing whatever concerns or opinions they had. After scanning each of the note cards, I then took them and created demonstration pieces in the shape of broken hearts to which people could continue adding on to. The two large broken heart pieces were publicly displayed and carried across campus during a protest.
Further documentation and context for the event can be found on Instagram @csusb_sath and @csusbcommedia and on a website I created about the campaign.
